       Welcome to the Village of Milan, Ohio's official website. Milan, Ohio is located approximately 20 minutes south of Sandusky, Ohio. Milan is well known for being the birthplace of Thomas A. Edison. Milan has many visitor attractions while maintaining a small town atmosphere.

Current Events / Announcements



     The Milan Police Department is currently accepting applications for part-time officers. Candidates must be OPOTA certified and willing to work flexible hours. Apply in person to the Chief of Police at 11 S. Main Street, Milan, Ohio between 7 A.M. and 3 P.M. Monday through Friday.


The Village of Milan Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. located at 11 S. Main Street

Topics will include Design Review, Medical Marijuana and possible Zoning updates. 


The 2017 Village of Milan Council Meetings will be held on the 4th Wednesday of the month beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Council room located at 11 S. Main Street Milan, OH. 

     The Village of Milan welcomes an open door policy for any concerns or questions you may have. However, in an effort to help us be prepared, we require a 48 hour notice to be placed on our agenda.     The new rate for the Milan natural gas aggregation participants will be the fixed rate of $0.464 per CCF for the period of October 2016 through March 2017. Although Milan is not a provider for natural gas, we research the cost of natural gas to get the best available fixed rate at the time of each contract. All residents of the Village will qualify for this rate, however, they are not obligated in any way to participate in this program.


The Village of Milan is pleased to introduce to our utility customers a communication tool that will allow us to quickly send emergency or informational messages to our residents. Each resident can have up to six phone numbers per household. This will allow for messages to be sent to home phones, work phones, cell phones, etc. Click here complete the form to sign up for this service.
